Alexander (Ander) Cohen is a Vascular Physician and Epidemiologist at the Department of Haematological Medicine, Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital, King’s College, London, UK.

Dr Cohen graduated with honours in Medicine and honours in Surgery from the University of Melbourne, Australia. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, London. He was awarded an MSc in epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London, and an MD with a thesis on the epidemiology of venous thromboembolism and thromboprophylaxis.

Dr Cohen is a pioneer in the field, and he was involved in directing the development and use of thromboprophylaxis in medical, surgical, and cancer patients. He led the only two studies which formed the basis for regulatory approval for extended thromboprophylaxis in medical patients, and he played a pivotal role in the development and approval of five direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs).

Dr Cohen undertakes clinical, supervising, teaching and charity work, and designs, manages and analyses clinical trials. He chairs many international trial steering committees, epidemiological and pharmacoeconomic studies, and he has written and co-authored over 550 publications including over 40 published in the NEJM and Lancet.

Chatree Chai-Adisaksopha is an Associate Professor and Lecturer at the Department of Medicine at Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai, Thailand. He is also a Clinical Fellow at the Department of Medicine, McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Ontario, Canada.

Dr Chai-Adisaksopha graduated with his MD from Chiang Mai University, where he underwent postgraduate training and a fellowship in the Hematology. Subsequently, he pursued his MSc in Health Research Methodology and a fellowship in the Thrombosis and Hemostasis Program at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Dr Chai-Adisaksopha actively engages in various scientific societies, including the Medical Council of Thailand and the Society of Hematology of Thailand. His research interests are hematology, internal medicine, thrombosis, hemostasis, meta-analysis, randomized control trials, systematic reviews, clinical epidemiology, methodology and he has published extensively on the topics. An experience speaker, he has also presented his work at various national and international congresses.

Daniel Lighezan is a Cardiology and Internal Medicine Senior Consultant and Professor at Internal Medicine Department, University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Victor Babes” of Timisoara, Romania. He is currently Vice-Rector at the mentioned university, Director of the Advanced Cardiology and Hemostaseology Research Center and member of Romanian Academy of Medical Sciences.

Prof Linghezan is a Board-member of the Romanian Society of Cardiology, as well as a Member of the European Society of Cardiology, Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology, Gold-member of the European Heart Failure Association, past-governor of the “International Society of Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy”.

During the 1993-1996 and 1999 specialization and research scholarship, Prof Linghezan was part of the research team of the Cardiology Clinic of the University of Heidelberg, Germany, where he participated and performed experimental cellular studies in vitro as well as in vivo studies: determination of action potentials under different antiarrhythmic drugs, the sterile pericarditis model for the analysis of atrial fibrillation in the canine model, three-dimensional intracardiac mapping for the study of “torsades des pointes” arrhythmia, the effect of different antiarrhythmic drugs in ventricular tachycardia in the canine model, the therapy of arrhythmias, especially atrial fibrillation through implantable internal defibrillation). He also holds an Innovator certificate for the innovation with the title: Method of processing electrical signals collected by Doppler ultrasonography and patent: Electronic device for measuring and displaying cerebral electrical signals with digital filtering.

Prof Linghezan’s primary research interests in the field of cardiology materialized through the publication of more than 120 articles in volumes of summaries and in extenso as first and co-author in national and international specialized journals, co-author of specialized books and courses, participation in National and International Congresses. He has participated at more than 15 international clinical trials in the area of heart cardiovascular disease as Principal Investigator.

Donna Shu-Han Lin is an Attending Physician at Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan. She also serves as a Lecturer for the Taiwan Ministry of Education.

Dr Lin earned her MD degree from National Yang-Ming University, Taipei. She then completed her residency training in internal medicine and cardiology fellowship at the National Taiwan University Hospital.

Dr Lin also actively participates in professional societies, including the Taiwan Society of Cardiology, Taiwan Society of Cardiovascular Interventions, Taiwan Myocardial Infarction Society, and the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology.

Dr Lin has devoted her career to the treatment and research of cardiovascular diseases, and her research focuses on innovative treatments for peripheral artery diseases, the effectiveness of antidiabetic drugs on cardiovascular outcomes, and the intersection of technology with patient care. She has also served as Principal Investigator for several investigator-initiated studies regarding clinical markers and outcomes in peripheral artery disease and cardiovascular treatment in chronic kidney disease.

Mikhail Fedyanin is Head of the Department of Systemic AntiCancer Treatment at Moscow City Hospital << Kommunarka >>, Moscow, Russia. He is also a Senior Scientific Worker, Medical Oncologist of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Chemotherapy, Federal State Budget Institution “Russian Oncological Research Center named after N. N. Blokhin” and Head of Oncology Department at Pirogov National Medical and Surgical Center.

Dr Fedyanin is a key figure in oncology care in Russia, and he is a board member of the Russian Society of Oncologists. He also serves as a member of several editorial boards, including the Oncological Coloproctology [Rus], Malignant tumors [Rus] and ESMO Open.

Nikolai Stuklov is a Professor at the Department of Hospital Therapy, and Head of Hematology Course, Medical Institute of RUDN University, Moscow, Russia. He is also Chief Researcher of High-Dose Chemotherapy Department with Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit of the National Medical Radiology Research Center, Obninsk, Russia.

Dr Stuklov graduated from the pediatric faculty of the Russian State Medical University before undergoing his clinical residency in haematology at the Hematology Research Center of Russian Academy of Medical Science.

Dr Stuklov is an active member of many scientific societies, including the National Hematology Society and the Russian Society of Specialists in the Prevention and Treatment of Tumors of the Reproductive System. He also serves on the editorial board of Hematology, Transfusiology, and as is an Advisory Board Member of Acta Scientific Gastrointestinal Disorders.

An avid educator, Dr Stuklov is involved is the training of 5 ^th and 6 ^th students at his institution, residents in hematology, and regularly conducts training courses in hematology and transfusiology. He has also authored many clinical textbooks and was instrumental in developing the National Manual on Hematology.

Sergey Markin is Head of the Phlebology Center at the Clinical Hospital of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Saint-Petersburg, Russia.

Dr Markin graduated from the Military Medical Academy SM Kirov before completing an internship with the Surgery Military Medical Academy. He then underwent his residency in surgery at St. Petersburg State University, and vascular surgery at the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia. He then went on to complete advance training in ultrasound diagnostics, healthcare organization, oncology, examination of medical care, medical examination.

Dr Markin directed the educational project, Actual Phlebology, which united 27,000 doctors. He has also authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications and participated in many leading scientific professional conferences. A pioneer in Russia, he is one of the co-authors of the national recommendations on major venous nosologies.

Dr Markin is a member of the Russian Association of Phlebologists, the St. Petersburg Association of Phlebologists, European Venous Forum, and he serves on the expert group for the development of Russian clinical guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of venous diseases.
